The Italian Embassy in Santo Domingo, as part of the initiatives for the 6th Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, organised the event ‘Pizza entre amigos’, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador Stefano Queirolo Palmas, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Bilateral Relations José Julio Gomez and the diplomatic community.
The initiative was an opportunity to attend a practical ‘pizza making’ class, an intangible UNESCO heritage, and enhance the Italian agri-food sector. The importance of the agri-food sector for our Country System was emphasised in terms of wealth production, exports, and jobs created the vast sector ‘from field to table’. The meeting was organised at ‘The Knife’s multifunctional premises, a model masterclass venue unique in the Dominican Republic. It was the setting to promote the other initiatives of Italian Cuisine Week, with 20 Italian restaurants throughout the country offering different regional menus.
