Until 8 January 2025, Italian photography will play a leading role at the Italian Cultural Institute of Paris. The exhibition “Viaggio in Italia”, curated by Matteo Balduzzi, presents the works of authors such as Gabriele Basilico, Mario Cresci, Luigi Ghirri, Guido Guidi, and Mimmo Jodice. It also celebrates the first forty years of Ghirri’s project of the same name (1984), a milestone in the history of Italian photography.
The 86 images from the original catalogue of “Viaggio in Italia” are also included in an anastatic reprint of the document.
The initiative is realised by the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture and MUFOCO – Museum of Contemporary Photography, in collaboration with the Luigi Ghirri Heirs Archive.
