Tunisi, sessantesimo anniversario della prima missione archeologica italo-tunisina

On the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the first Italo-Tunisian archaeological mission, the Institut National du Patrimoine (INP), the Embassy of Italy in Tunisia, and the Italian Cultural Institute of Tunis are organising two study days dedicated to the results of the ongoing excavation missions and current cooperation projects in the sector.

The study days will take place at the prestigious National Museum of Bardo in Tunis, allowing the directors of the joint excavation missions to present, in an educational context, the work carried out so far at significant archaeological sites throughout the country, such as Carthage, Cape Bon, Thuburbo Maius, Althiburos, etc., as well as the objectives of ongoing projects. Space will also be given to important ongoing cooperation projects, such as the collaboration between the Institut National du Patrimoine and the Colosseum Archaeological Park for the protection and enhancement of the El Jem site, as well as emerging collaborations like the extensive partnership between the INP, the Central Institute for Restoration, the Central Institute for Archaeology, and AICS Tunis.
