A collaboration between the Italian Cultural Institute of Barcelona, the Scuola del Libro in Rome, and the Biblioteques de Barcelona has given rise to “Making books. Conversations on publishing between Italy and Spain”, an event dedicated to those who create, promote, and write books across the two countries.
Held on 12 June, the day-long event explored and critically examined each key stage in the creation of a complex cultural product such as the book — from writing and translation to publication and promotion.
Leading figures from the Spanish and Italian publishing scenes took turns on stage, engaging in dialogue that once again highlighted the profound and longstanding cultural ties between the two nations.
