On 23 July, the Centre Culturel International de Hammamet hosted a concert by Addict Ameba, one of the most original collectives on the contemporary Italian music scene. The event formed part of the “Shluq – Musica in movimento” series, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Tunis in collaboration with Chullu, a creative agency operating between Milan and Modica.

Running from May to October 2025 in Tunis, Shluq offers a musical journey between Italy and Tunisia, blending innovation and memory. The name itself evokes the scirocco, the warm wind that blows from the Sahara towards Europe—an ideal symbol of a cultural current uniting the two shores of the Mediterranean.

Following performances by the Lero Lero collective (29 May) and Cesare Basile (12 June), Addict Ameba took to the stage to meet the Tunisian public. Formed in the Casoretto district of Milan, the group comprises ten musicians whose sound fuses afrobeat, ethio-jazz, psychedelic rock, and Latin influences. The Addict Ameba concert fully embodied the spirit of Shluq, offering a moment of artistic and sonic dialogue between cultures, territories, and languages.

The series continues on 27 September with a performance by percussionist Alfio Antico, and concludes on 14 October with a concert by singer-songwriter Anna Castiglia from Catania.
