The Caputo Award exhibition, hosted at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York from 17 to 30 June 2025, marked the first international stage of a project created to enhance the young talents of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples. The works on display reflect the deep connection between art and food tradition, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 2500th anniversary of the foundation of Naples.
Launched in 2024 by Mulino Caputo for its centenary, the Prize quickly established itself as a virtuous example of corporate patronage, thanks also to the collaboration with Valore Italia, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Fondazione Banco di Napoli and Museimpresa. The project, intended for students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, has enabled a new generation of artists to narrate the collective identity of Neapolitan cuisine with contemporary language.
Curated by professors Olga Scotto di Vettimo and Arcangela Di Lorenzo, the New York event received the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Cultural Institute and Arterìa. The exhibition has established itself as a living instrument of cultural promotion, bringing the creative spirit of Naples to the world through art, memory and future vision.
