The exhibition “Tools for After”, curated by architect Maurizio Corrado and conceived by Angelo Gioè, is on view at the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco until 15 September 2025.

Launched as part of the San Francisco Design Week, the exhibition focuses on innovation within Italian design culture, presenting objects, images and videos. How will design and architecture evolve in the future? What role does design play in the Anthropocene era? “Tools for After” proposes tangible solutions for facing the scenarios to come: the designer is portrayed as a visionary, entrusted with the task of imagining the future.

The materials on display include projects, products and prototypes of the latest generation of Italian design, created by students of design and architecture schools, all addressing the challenges of sustainability.

The project made its debut in Melbourne before travelling to Beirut, Sofia, Belgrade and San Francisco. A further stage in Central America is currently under consideration.
