Prague, Contemporary Art Day

Praga, Giornata del Contemporaneo
Praga, Giornata del Contemporaneo

On the occasion of Contemporary Art Day, on Wednesday, October 8, Lorenzo Gnata inaugurated “Being Relations,” the young artist’s first solo exhibition abroad. The exhibition presented works specifically designed for the premises of the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague, featuring nine works made from PLA (biodegradable polymer) displayed in the foyer and a new site-specific installation reaching upwards from the Cultural Institute’s entrance.

During the presentation, the Institute’s Director, Marialuisa Pappalardo, and the artist discussed themes related to contemporary art, the artist’s educational processes, and Gnata’s research. He also guided the audience through his creations. Gnata’s artistic research investigates contemporary living, intertwining concept and perception in a poetic tension that transcends tangible reality. Through works that probe the relationships between the individual and the cosmos, we move beyond the visible to explore the profound threads that bind the individual to the environment.

Lorenzo Gnata’s works have been exhibited at: Tate Britain – Late (London), Palazzo delle Esposizioni (Rome), Reggia di Venaria (Turin), La Triennale (Milan), Fondazione Treccani (Naples), Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa (Venice), ZonArte – Artissima (Turin), and Germinale Monferrato Art Fest (Asti).
