The winners of the 21st edition of the New York Prize have been announced:

  • Binta DIAW (Cernusco sul Naviglio – MI, 1995)
  • Sara Ravelli (Crema – CR, 1993)

The 21st edition of the Prize was launched by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, and the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America at Columbia University.

The Prize is a residency programme dedicated to emerging Italian artists. The winning artists will spend five months in New York, from February to June 2026, developing their creative skills while engaging with the cultural and artistic life of the United States, and in particular of New York.

They will also have the opportunity to take part in cultural activities organised by the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Academy, and to attend, as auditors, courses in art history, film theory, visual arts, and architecture at Columbia University.

At the end of the residency, the artists will present an exhibition of their works at The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (EFA) in Manhattan, or at other institutions in Manhattan or Brooklyn.
