On the occasion of the Italian Made in Italy Day, the Consulate General of Italy in Miami, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, organised a talk with Horacio Pagani, the renowned founder and CEO of the hypercar brand bearing his name.
Accompanied by an exhibition of Pagani vehicles, the event aimed to present to the American public – comprising designers, automotive specialists, distributors and importers – the personal and entrepreneurial journey of Horacio Pagani: from his early years in Argentina to his career at Lamborghini in Modena, and ultimately to the founding of his own automotive company, also based in the Motor Valley.
“Pagani’s creative and entrepreneurial journey is exemplary. It highlights the defining features of Made in Italy and the cultural context in which it is rooted and thrives. This is a tradition that continues to captivate audiences worldwide, drawn to the narrative of Italian craftsmanship: genius, creativity and intuition, but also hard work, unwavering commitment, and the ability to innovate while reinterpreting centuries-old traditions of craftsmanship, science and technology”, underlined Consul General Michele Mistò.
The discussion explored a wide range of themes. These included the rich automotive heritage of Modena’s Motor Valley district. The importance of teamwork in creating innovative products was also highlighted, together with the need to identify high value-added market niches in which Italy must continue to invest. Participants also examined the technological challenges posed by major international automotive manufacturers. They discussed the transformation of the global car market, driven by evolving tastes and sensitivities among younger generations, as well as shifts in public opinion more broadly. Attention was also given to the need for coordinated action among sector players, including across high value-added segments such as Altagamma. The cultural value of Made in Italy, both for those who create it and for those who aspire to experience it, was another key theme of the discussion. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the audience. Many young attendees were in the front rows, with a strong interest in speed, technology and competitive motorsport.
“This initiative, developed in collaboration with Pagani, was strongly supported to celebrate Made in Italy Day 2026. It reflects the wealth of insight and inspiration that companies such as Pagani offer to international audiences, including highly informed and expert ones. In the finest Italian tradition, these are stories of courage, creativity and dedication, but also of humanity, culture and humility”, concluded Consul General Mistò.
