A conference focusing on sustainable development and cooperation in the field between Italy and China was held at the Chengdu Century City Holiday Inn on the sidelines of Italy’s participation in the 18th edition of Ecomondo China – Chengdu International Environmental Protection Expo (CDEPE).
The event, co-organised by the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing, the Foreign Affairs Office of the City of Chengdu and the Italian Exhibition Group, with the support of the Chengdu Ecology and Environment Department and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, was also included in the official programme of the 8th Sustainable Development Festival.
Introducing the important event was the Consul General of Italy in Chongqing Fabio Schina during his opening greeting. The festival, promoted by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS), was created with the aim of raising awareness and mobilising citizens, younger generations, businesses, associations and institutions on the issues of economic, social and environmental sustainability.
Consul Schina, after attending the opening ceremony of Ecomondo China – CDEPE and the inauguration of the Italian Pavilion curated by the Italian Trade Agency in the morning, stressed the importance of maintaining continuous exchanges and cooperation between Italy and China in a strategic sector such as sustainable development, taking the opportunity to recall that the event was also part of the Chengdu-Europe Industry Dialogue.
