The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Argentina and Promos Italia are organising an event dedicated to Argentina and the new opportunities in the energy and energy transition sector called “Argentina: opportunità nel settore energetico e della transizione produttiva”. The initiative will take place in Milan, at Palazzo Turati, on Tuesday 25 June 2024, from 9:30 a.m. (registration of participants starts at 9 a.m.).
The event aims to further promote and consolidate economic and trade relations between Italy and Argentina, focusing on the energy sector which both countries are extremely interested in. The energy, mining, and transition industries are, in fact, major drivers of growth in Argentina, which is home to one of the largest reserves of shale oil and gas in the world (Vaca Muerta), one of the largest reserves of lithium on the planet, and a country with unique potential for the production of green hydrogen.
During the event, speeches by Argentinean and Italian governmental, institutional and business representatives will offer a detailed and up-to-date picture of the local energy scene, with a special focus on the new regulatory framework in the oil & gas sector, on strategies to address the energy transition towards more sustainable sources, and on major projects.
