Today at the Farnesina, Minister Moavero met with the Commanding General of the Guardia di Finanza (GdF), General Toschi, and 18 officers of the GdF who are posted as experts at Italian diplomatic missions abroad.
The network of experts of the GdF, who engage in combating tax evasion and economic and financial crimes, constitutes the most tangible example of the synergy that exists between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Guardia di Finanza abroad.
The Foreign Ministry and the Guardia di Finanza successfully cooperate also at central level, in a range of sectors such as combating money laundering and terrorism funding, enforcing international sanctions and fighting corruption.
Building on a reputation of excellence recognised worldwide, the GdF, in close cooperation and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), offers training and technical assistance to police corps and law enforcement agencies of a large number of Countries for the functions of the corps of customs and border police and finance police.
