Initiatives to commemorate Leopardi’s Infinito reviewed at the Farnesina

Today, at the Farnesina, the President of the National Committee for the Commemoration of the bicentennial of Giacomo Leopardi’s poem “L’Infinito”, Ambassador Giuseppe Balboni Acqua, accompanied by the President of the National Centre of Leopardian Studies in Recanati, Dr Fabio Corvatta, met with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Elisabetta Belloni.

At the meeting, the discussion reviewed the initiatives that the Italian Cultural Institutes and the Italian schools abroad will be able to organise to celebrate the bicentenary, also in partnership with the academic world of the Countries of accreditation.

The National Committee was established through Decree N. 29 of 30 January 2019 by the Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities that also provided for a contribution towards the implementation of the initiatives planned and their possible refinancing for the two years following the establishment of the Committee.
