Loredana di Lillo in the new episode of “Spazi d’artista”

A new episode of the Spazi d’artista” web series, created in collaboration with Artribune magazine, is now available. This is a series of ten short films dedicated to ten artists from the Farnesina’s Collection, talking about their journey and their relationship with the studios in which they operate. Until September 2021 one film per month is broadcast on the website and the social channels of Artribune and the Foreign Ministry.

Loredana Di Lillo is the protagonist of the penultimate video: Il mio lavoro cambia spesso [My work changes often]. In her work Di Lillo uses various languages: photography, installations, and collages, creating contaminations that take inspiration from surrealism and conceptual art. Some of them have an intimate character, questioning memory and the past and hinging around the theme of the loss of innocence. Others, instead, are animated by strong moral and political tension, in which Di Lillo reflects on contemporary society and its values.

Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Di Lillo won the Cairo Prize in 2012. She later became a resident of ISCP in New York. She currently lives and works in Milan.

Her Letter ‘T’ (Tyrant) (2013) is in the Farnesina’s Collection.

Spazi d’artista is a way to discover the protagonists of the contemporary Italian art scene which, in its liveliness and vitality, testifies to Italy’s central role on the international cultural scene.
