The Farnesina Collection welcomes the works of Giulia Neri (Bologna, 1979). The twenty digital illustrations created between 2020 and 2022 by the Bologna-born illustrator, who graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and has a degree in psychology, add to the recent section – dedicated to graphics, illustration and street art – of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s contemporary art collection.
As the artist claims, these drawings represent human feelings and emotions, gestures and everyday situations “through metaphors and visual similarities”, thus depicting a lyrical tale of a reality that envelops us “with a familiar symbolism in which everyone can recognise themselves”.
In addition to her collaborations with national and international magazines and publishing houses, Giulia Neri is the creator of the “Ripido Illustration Festival”, a new exhibition dedicated to Italian drawings and illustrations, held in Brunico.
