Two photographs by Anna Di Prospero – “Untitled”, 2015 (Den Blå Planet – Copenhagen, Denmark) and “Untitled”, 2015 (Oscar Niemeyer Auditorium– Ravello, Italy) have joined the Farnesina Collection.
The photography of Anna Di Prospero (Rome, 1987) is characterised by her introspective exploration of daily life and the relationships between human and space, the social and the urban dimensions. In her “Urban Self-portrait” series (2010-2015), the artist created a series of highly distinctive self-portraits against the background of some of the most important contemporary architecture of Europe and the United States.
In her images, using an almost performative approach, Di Prospero portrays herself in positions that create a formal continuity and correspondence with the geometric trajectories of the buildings, in a synergistic and sensual dialogue with the spirit of the place. The buildings selected for her project include the Oscar Niemeyer Auditorium in Ravello (Province of Salerno) and the National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet, in Copenhagen.
