Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and the Embassy of Romania in Italy, will host the “Italy-Romania Business Forum”.
The event will take place in Rome at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on 15 February 2024, starting at 4:00 p.m. (participants’ registration will begin at 3:00 p.m.), on the occasion of the Intergovernmental Summit between Italy and Romania. The opening session will be inaugurated by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Luminiţa Odobescu. Speeches by bodies and institutions of the two countries in support of the internationalisation of their respective economic systems and testimonies of Italian and Romanian companies will follow, focusing on four sectors: 1) energy; 2) agro-industry; 3) ICT/digitalisation and 4) infrastructures/mechanical engineering. At the end of the event, B2G as well as B2B meetings between the participating companies may take place. The event will be conducted in Italian and Romanian and a simultaneous interpretation service will be provided.
Italy and Romania are united by close economic relations that have been consolidated in recent decades based on a highly integrated model, characterised by a robust synergy between production chains. In 2022 and in the first ten months of 2023, Italy confirmed itself as Romania’s 2nd supplier and 2nd customer at a global level, with a trade volume in 2022 close to EUR 20 billion. The Business Forum aims to further strengthen bilateral economic relations, also focusing on the development of innovative sectors and emerging technologies in the name of ecological and digital transition.
