There is no growth without innovation, no progress without research and development. Researchers, scientists, institutions and business persons need the web in Italy and abroad in order to share their strategic resources.
Innovitalia is a digital platform to be presented at the foreign ministry in Rome at 12:00 on Thursday 4 October 2012 by Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi and Minister for Education, Universities and Research Francesco Profumo. Innovitalia is a virtual space for meeting, sharing and comparing Italian talents and excellence; an interactive way to exchange ideas and information on research programmes and professional opportunities. Italian scientists’ integration abroad needs to be encouraged along with synergies between research and production.
The opening speeches of Ministers Terzi and Profumo will be followed by a debate moderated by Director of the magazine Wired Carlo Antonelli, whose participants will include Director of RAI Educational Silvia Calandrelli, President of Crowdengineering Gioacchino La Vecchia and, by video link, Dr. Mario Raviglione and Prof. Fabiola Gianotti from Geneva, Dr. Vito Campese from Los Angeles and Dr. Riccardo Lattanzi from New York
Journalists and camera operators interested in covering the event are asked to apply for specific accreditation using the online accreditation system now available at the “Journalists Area” on the home page of the foreign ministry’s website www.esteri.it. Please complete the interactive form provided in the Press section of our web site, to which all required documentation can be attached in digital format.
If in exceptional cases it is not possible to complete the online accreditation procedure, applications in writing on company letterhead and signed by the director of the organisation concerned—indicating name, surname, date and place of birth, number of a valid ID document and qualification—should be sent by fax to the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (tel. 063691.3432 fax 06.3691.2122).
Accredited journalists/photographers will be admitted at the Via della Macchia della Farnesina entrance, which will be open from 11:15 onwards.
