Accreditation notice: International Conference on Libya (Farnesina, 6 March 2014)

The international conference on Libya will take place at the Farnesina on Thursday 6 March 2014.


Proceedings will be opened by Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini; Jeffrey Feltman, Under Secretary General for Political Affairs at the United Nations; Tarek Mitri, the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for Libya and head of the UNSMIL mission; and senior Libyan authorities.


The schedule for the press programme is as follows.


· Filming of opening speeches at the conference (10.15)


· Family photo (13.30)


Photographers and television crews interested in covering the opening speeches and family photo should report to the Press Accreditation Office at the rear entrance to the Ministry in Via Macchia della Farnesina, from 8.30 and no later than 9.15.


· Closing press conference by Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini; the Libyan Foreign Minister, Mohamed Abdulaziz; and the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for Libya and head of the UNSMIL mission, Tarek Mitri (about 17.00)


Journalists, photographers and television crews interested in following the press conference should report to the Press Accreditation Office at the rear entrance to the Ministry in Via Macchia della Farnesina, from 15.30 and no later than 16.15.


Accreditation procedure


Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in following the event should apply for specific accreditation no later than 13.00 of 5 March 2014.


Online accreditation system. Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in following the event should:


– complete the interactive form available at http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp


– attach all required documentation (if not already submitted) to the form, in digital format


Required documentation:


– a letter from your media organisation


– for foreign journalists in Italy: a note verbale issued by the Embassy in Rome of your media organisation’s country.


If you are unable to complete the online accreditation procedure, please send your application by fax to the Foreign Ministry’s Press and Institutional Communication Service (tel. 06/3691.3432 – fax 06/3691.2122) or by email to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it.


Media representatives who need an entry visa for Italy should apply as soon as possible to the Italian Embassy or Consulate for their region.


Accreditation badges can be collected in person on presentation of a valid ID at the Press Accreditation Office at the rear entrance to the Ministry in Via Macchia della Farnesina, from 8.30 of Thursday 6 March 2014.


Media representatives accompanying foreign delegations taking part in the conference should use the same entrance in Via Macchia della Farnesina, from 8.30, to collect their press accreditation badge. They should bring a valid identity with them.
