ACCREDITATION NOTICE – Human rights to water day (Farnesina, 5 April 2016)

On Tuesday, 5 April, at 9:30, at the Farnesina, there will be a day of discussion on “The New UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the debate on human rights to water”, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The event will be introduced by the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sen. Benedetto Della Vedova. Concluding remarks will be made by the President of the Interministerial Committee on Human Rights, Min. Plen. Gianludovico de Martino.

There will be four sessions:

First session (9:45) – Debate on the international context for the right to water

Moderator: Min. Plen. Gianludovico de Martino, President of the Interministerial Committee on Human Rights (CIDU)

Second session (10:15) – Water in national legislation

Moderator: Silvia Dodero, lawyer and CIDU expert

Third session (11:00) – Italy’s experience

Moderator: Min. Plen. Luigi De Chiara, Directorate General for Development Cooperation

Fourth session (11:45) – Towards human rights to water: proposals discussed

Moderator: Marco Pertile, Professor of International Law from the Law Faculty of Trento University

The representatives of the accredited media should enter the Ministry from the main entrance – left-hand side – from 9:00 to 9:30
