On Wednesday, 27 September 2017, at 11:30 a.m., the Farnesina will host the presentation of the Call for scientific and industrial cooperation projects with Israel for 2018. The presentation will also illustrate the opportunities offered in this context to universities, research centres and enterprises.
The bilateral Framework Agreement for industrial, scientific and technological cooperation entered into by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the State of Israel, in force since 2002, provides for the allocation of funds to co-finance joint projects aimed at developing innovative technologies and scientific research projects.
Over the last 15 years, the Agreement has proven to be an excellent instrument to foster closer relations between the two Countries in the field of research and industrial development, enabling the co-financing of 115 industrial development and research projects, 58 bilateral basic research programmes developed by Universities and Research Centres, and the establishment of 9 joint laboratories, worth more than 2 million euros a year.
The event will open with remarks by Fabrizio Nicoletti, Deputy Director General for the economic and cultural promotion of Italy and General Director for innovation and industry of the MAECI, who will be followed by Natalie Gutman-Chen, of the Commercial Office of the Embassy of Israel and by Professor Stefano Boccaletti, Scientific Attaché at the Italian Embassy in Tel Aviv.
The morning’s agenda will continue with the presentation of two projects that represent two success stories of the Italy-Israel scientific cooperation: the SURV-BLOOD Project, illustrated by Professor Mauro Magnani, Scientific Director of Diatheva Srl, project partner of Israel’s National Institute of Molecular Genetics and PRC Biomedical, and the IMESS Project’s Columbus Superconductors SpA, project implementation together with CNR Istituto SPIN and BIU University and Unirom (Israel).
