On Thursday 18 November 2021, starting at 11.00, the sixth “Week of Italian Cuisine in the World” will be presented at Palazzo della Farnesina, the Foreign Ministry building

The main theme of this 6th edition, which combines the promotion of Italian agri-food products with the enhancement of the Mediterranean Diet as a healthy and sustainable diet and lifestyle model, is “Tradition and perspectives of Italian cuisine: the awareness and enhanced appreciation of food sustainability”.

This event, which will take place from 22 to 28 November 2021 across the network of diplomatic and consular services abroad, has established itself over the years as one of the leading initiatives to promote the best of the Italian food and wine supply chain and the Italian food and wine tradition abroad, and has proved to be one of the pillars of the internationalisation strategy for the “Made in Italy” label outlined in the Export Pact.

The proceedings will be opened by Luigi Di Maio, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, followed by speeches from Giancarlo Giorgetti, Minister of Economic Development, Stefano Patuanelli, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies, and Patrizio Whites, Minister of Education. The founder of Slow Food, Carlo Petrini, will also be participating.

The event will be moderated by Lorenzo Angeloni, the Foreign Ministry Director General for the Promotion of Italy as a Country System.

Photographers and TV operators will be able to watch the speeches directly in the conference room (Sala Conferenze Internazionali). Journalists will be able to watch them via an audio/video link in the listening room (Sala Aldo Moro). The event will also be live streamed on the Youtube channel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
