Media accreditation notice: Event: “(Dis)Informazione. Sfide Internazionali e resilienza interna” (“(Dis)Information. International Challenges and Internal Resilience”)

On Monday, 7 February 2022, at 2:30 PM, the Farnesina will host the event “(Dis)Informazione. Sfide Internazionali e resilienza interna.”

The event, organized in partnership with the Italian Digital Media Observatory (IDMO), will open with remarks by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, and will be introduced and moderated by Prof. Paola Pisano, scientific expert in digital economy and the evolution of technological innovation at the Farnesina.

The welcome greetings by the Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General, Ettore Francesco Sequi and by the Director General of Public and Cultural Diplomacy, Pasquale Quito Terracciano, will be followed with contributions from: Prof. Luisa Chiodi, Director of the Osservatorio Balcani Caucaso Transeuropea/Centro per la Cooperazione Internazionale; Elena Musi, Associate Professor of Communication and Media, University of Liverpool – Researcher at the IDMO; Dr Angelo Mazzetti, Head of Italy-Greece Institutional Relations, Meta; Dr Diego Ciulli, Head of Institutional Relations, Google Italia, and Prof. Gianni Riotta, Director of the Master’s course in Journalism and Multimedia Communication at LUISS University and coordinator of IDMO – Italian Digital Media Observatory.

The event will be attended by representatives of public institutions, including Undersecretary of State for Information and Publishing, Sen. Prof. Rocco Giuseppe Moles, the President of the Foreign and Community Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Hon. Piero Fassino, the President of the Transport, Post and Telecommunications Commission of the Senate of the Republic, Sen. Mauro Coltorti, the President of the Authority for Communications Guarantees (AGCOM) Prof. Giacomo Lasorella, representatives of the world of information, the private sector, social medias, experts and academicians, who will engage in a debate on the current challenges posed by disinformation, misinformation and malinformation.
