(Farnesina, 8 May 2024)

On Wednesday 8 May 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Italy-Africa Business Dialogue Forum will be held in the International Conference Room of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A family photo is scheduled at 9:10 a.m.

The event, which will be opened by the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, is being organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency and Confindustria – Assafrica. It will be attended by representatives of 47 African business associations from 21 countries and representatives of their Italian counterparts.

Two sessions will be devoted respectively to the role of the Regional Development Banks for the growth of the African continent and to export support by the Italian Agencies of the Internationalisation Hub. At the end of the plenary session, the participants will have the opportunity to exchange views in the framework of four tables devoted to the topics of energy and digital transition, sustainable mobility, instrumental mechanics, and agrifood, in order to create new business opportunities based on mutually beneficial cooperation. The proceedings will be closed by the Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli.

Over the course of the event, memorandums of understanding will also be signed between Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and the Multilateral Development Banks attending the Forum. The aim is to identify areas of possible collaboration in countries of common interest, identify possible projects to co-finance and promote match-making meetings with local counterparts.

The meeting will be streamed live on the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ YouTube channel.
