Roberto Natali, the Special Envoy for the Caribbean Countries of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), went on a mission to Haiti to follow up the Haitian President’s visit to Italy last January. The occasion was the Council of Ministers of the Association of Caribbean States – Trinidad and Tobago (for the seating of the new President of the Republic) – and Guyana. In addition to bilateral meetings, the Special Envoy met with the Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States and the Secretary General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). All the meetings confirmed that Italy’s relations with the region are strengthening, especially in the environmental and renewable energy sectors, economic cooperation and education.
