On 24 May the Italian Ambassador Queirolo Palmas has opened the doors of his residence once again to the public and to some top representatives of the Italian entrepreneurial sector on the occasion of Denmark’s annual design event.
‘3daysofdesign’, which is now holding its seventh edition – the third attended by prominent Italian companies- showcases the best of the Danish and international design scene. The event, which is spread out across the city in 97 locations, has a rich agenda featuring events, presentations, workshops and design talks addressed to a large number ofdesign enthusiasts and design professionals operating in Copenhagen. It is a most successful event that over the years has attracted a growing number of Danish and international design professionals, besides engaging the main diplomatic missions accredited to Denmark, that have shown an increasing interest in this three-day festival.
The 2018 project, which is sponsored by our Embassy in Copenhagen, was developed by interior designer Stefano Angelo Elli, the winner of the ‘Artist in Residence” Programme. His tutor was the Managing Director of the event, Signe Byrdal Terenziani. The initiative combines four top Italian brands in one single concept – Flos, Poltrona Frau, 3Falke and Ferrari. They specialize in different areas and namely lighting, furniture and car design. The project showcases important design objects that enhance the values they share, while offering visitors a unique experience. The exhibition is hosted at what since 1924 has been the residence of Italian ambassadors – an 18th century building located in the heart of the Danish capital .
It is especially worth to note that the cooperation between Poltrona Frau and Ferrari has brought about the restyling of the seats of Ferrari cars as well as the creation of a very performing office chair that draws inspiration from the race world. An exclusive preview of the office chair, first presented at Milan’s Salone del Mobile, the international furniture fair, was hosted at the Ambassador’s residence.
