San Francisco: “La Scuola International School” is given equivalence

There will be an important development in the Italian educational system in the world for the 2018/2019 school year: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) have recognised  “La Scuola International School” in San Francisco the status of equivalence  at preschool and elementary levels.  This school will join the “Scuola d’Italia Guglielmo Marconi” in New York, which has already been awarded the status of equivalence.

The programmes offered by the school are characterised by three key elements, notably the teaching of Italian, the use of the “Reggio Children” approach, and the adoption of the “Primary Years Programme” of the International Baccalaureate (I.B.).

The recognition of equivalence to the school, the 43rd to be granted abroad, is highly significant. It is the first Italian private elementary school in the world, including Italy, to be given the status of equivalence. Therefore, it is officially recognized as being part of the national educational system while also offering an I.B. programme. The model can be replicated elsewhere with the aim of expanding and innovating our scholastic system abroad.
