Italy has organised a course for magistrates and judges who will become trainers in Niamey, Niger. The course was set up by the Sant’Anna School in Pisa with the contribution of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and was attended by 20 Nigerian magistrates and judges. The aim is to strengthen the pedagogical, didactical and methodological skills of the educators. During the opening ceremony, Italian Ambassador to Niger, Marco Prencipe, stated how the course represents Italy’s firm intention to support Niger’s justice sector. Niger wants to repeat this training since cooperation with Italy represents an important part of bilateral relations in the judicial sector and Nigerian magistrates and judges need to adequately contrast transnational organised crime and illicit trafficking.
