The Ambassador of Italy visits the Commonwealth of the Bahamas

The Ambassador of Italy to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Armando Varricchio, made an institutional visit to the capital Nassau, where he met Prime Minister Hubert Alexander Minnis, assisted by the Minister of Finance, Marlon Johnson, and the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Jack Thompson.

The meetings reaffirmed the excellent state of bilateral relations, which this year celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their establishment. The strong relationship between the two Countries is also consolidated thanks to the Memorandum of Understanding between Italy and the Caricom Countries on environmental cooperation and through the support for respective candidacies for the Human Rights Council, where Nassau and Rome will sit together, for the three-year period 2019-2021.

The visit also allowed to review the state of economic relations with Italy, with a particular focus on the investment opportunities in the Archipelago.
