The new Italian Embassy was opened in Conakry in Guinea with a short ribbon-cutting ceremony. Ambassador, Livio Spadavecchia took the opportunity to highlight the business activities and cooperation provided by Italians, even during the 20 years the Embassy was closed in Conakry. He also announced a packed programme of cultural activities for the upcoming year. The head of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Guinea, Dario Mariani described the steps that would be taken to implement the Euro 20-million programme supporting the country’s healthcare system, and also mentioned the Italian cooperation projects implemented in Guinea. Representing the local government, the Minister of Security and Civil Protection emphasised the excellent bilateral relations between the countries and Italy’s high-level commitment to supporting development in Guinea.
