The 2019 edition of the Festival of Italian Regions wrapped up with a play in Italian, organized by 16 schools in Moscow and other Russian cities. Organized by the Consulate General of Italy, with support from the Moscow Duma and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, in collaboration with Moscow’s State Institutes n.1409 and n.1251, the Festival has reached its fifteenth edition. The 16 schools that participated in the initiative are part of a program designed to spread the Italian language. Hence, each school staged a short show focusing on the history of specific Italian regions.
All performances were in Italian and the jury, that included Italian diplomatic authorities, educators and experts, evaluated different aspects of the works, giving certificates of participation to all students, as well as prizes that were offered by the Consulate General of Italy in Moscow and the Dante Alighieri Society.
The best performers, the groups that distinguished themselves for their use of the Italian language, for the accurate development of the subject, for staging and team work were awarded scholarships by the Eduitalia Association.
The event has highlighted, once again, the great love that schools and universities have for Italy, as well as for the language and culture of the “Belpaese”.
