Belgrade: Fabio Sgroi on show at the Photography Festival

The photographic exhibition “Lo stivale” (“The Boot”) by Italian photographer Fabio Sgroi participates in the 7th edition of the “Vizualizator” Photography Festival in programme in Belgrade. The initiative, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade, will give the opportunity to become familiar with the work of the Italian artist who started his photographic career as a self-taught photographer in 1984 by taking pictures of his friends, young people in the world of punk and underground music. In 1986, Fabio Sgroi worked for two years for the Informazione Fotografica agency of Letizia Battaglia and Franco Zecchin on behalf of the Palermo-based “L’Ora” daily newspaper. From the outset, he dedicated his work to his city and his region of birth, Sicily, with a special focus on annual celebrations, religious ceremonies and everyday life. He has travelled and worked across Europe and in different parts of the world. Since 2000 he has been working on panoramic formats of urban landscapes and industrial archaeology.
