Tehran: third edition of “Urban Art Unites”

At the opening of the third edition of the artistic project “URBAN ART UNITES” today at the Residence of the Italian Ambassador in Tehran, a work created by the Iranian artist Hoshvar in memory of Kobe Bryant was presented. Author of numerous murales in Tehran, Hoshvar wanted to express the great emotion aroused, also in the Islamic Republic, by the tragic and premature death of the American champion, considered an idol in and out of Iran.

The third edition of “URBAN ART UNITES”, a programme launched by the Italian Embassy in Iran last September to regularly exhibit works by Italian and Iranian artists on the external wall of the Ambassador’s residence, featured two very young artists who presented the two murales created for the occasion in front of a large audience of guests. They were the Milanese Ricky Boy and the Iranian NirOne, who worked side by side in Tehran for two weeks, comparing and exchanging ideas, inspirations and painting techniques.

On the occasion of the inaugural event, Ambassador Giuseppe Perrone declared that “URBAN ART UNITES” wants to be a container within which Iranian and Italian artists can establish direct contacts from which new ideas and creative inspirations can be generated that can contribute to the further strengthening of cultural ties between Italy and Iran particularly in an innovative sector such as Urban Art”.
