Seven projects by students and young professionals were honoured in Madrid as part of activities connected to Italian Design Day 2020 and Madrid Design Festival. It is the result of the competition “Design – A journey between Italy and Spain”, organized by the Italian Embassy in Madrid and the General Consulate in Barcelona. The seven winners will see their projects carried out by several Italian companies and the prototypes will be exhibited in the Embassy.
“With this initiative, which is part of the ITmakES project conceived and carried out in recent years by the Embassy, we have given shape to a new philosophy of promotion of our creative cultural industry, based on the enhancement of the ‘virtuous relationships’ that exist between companies, young people, media and training centres from Italy and Spain, in a logic of dialogue and collaboration between the two countries,” said Ambassador Stefano Sannino, who chaired the jury.
“Of the numerous proposals received, we have selected those that best interpreted the theme of the competition, which is, the identity object, that object that helps us remember our identity and that must necessarily adapt to an increasingly flexible lifestyle, in which we need lighter ‘backpacks’ ”, explained Francesco Zurlo, Design Ambassador for the Italian Design Day in Madrid.
