IIC Madrid: the affinity between Italy and Spain, a video project

The Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid launches an audio-visual project on its social networks. Well-known Italian authors, artists and intellectuals reflect on the similarities between Italian and Spanish culture, taking as a starting point the global isolation we have been in for several weeks.

The project is made up of a series of videos, collected under the title ‘‘Un pensiero da pensare insieme tra Italia e Spagna (A thought to think together between Italy and Spain), in which several scholars expose their reflections from the forced confinement in their homes.

Among the protagonists of the first five videos that make up the project are Nicola Lagioia, writer and director of the International Book Fair of Turin, who takes as a starting point for his reflection the existence of a common Italian-Spanish thought; Annarosa Buttarelli, philosopher and scientific director of the High Training School Donne di Governo; Giovanni Solimine, writer and president of the “Maria e Goffredo Bellonci Foundation”; the writer Helena Janeczek, Witch Prize 2018 with “La ragazza con la Leica”, who reflects on the closeness that prevails despite the distance to which we are condemned by imprisonment, and Michela Marzano, university professor, philosopher and essayist living in Paris, who reflects on the community during isolation and the sense of community that is opposed to individualism.
