Stockholm: the days of quarantine, a jazz diary

JazzHome”: Jazz doesn’t go into quarantine. Il diario di una musista jazz nei giorni di isolamento in Italia” (The diary of a jazz musician in the days of isolation in Italy) is the new project addressed to quarantined artists of the Italian Cultural Institute of Stockholm: a serial story by Cecilia Sanchietti, Italian composer, drummer and musician, entirely dedicated to jazz.

#JazzHome was born from the difficulties that musicians are forced to suffer in this peculiar period. Today the clubs are closed, there are no concerts; the Festivals interrupted the programming and cancelled schedules; schools and conservatories suspended the lessons. The human and economic impact of this pandemic is enormous.

The project will be launched on Friday 17 April until Thursday 30 April on the occasion of International Jazz Day. The international day dedicated to jazz is promoted by the United Nations World Organization to raise the awareness of the international community on the virtues of jazz. It is an educational tool and force to enhance peace, unity, dialogue and strengthened cooperation between people, and to build more inclusive societies.

Every day, for fourteen days, Cecilia Sanchietti will share a personal reflection with the public of the Institute. Such consideration, her musical gift for all, comes from a declination of jazz, and it is linked to the historical moment we are living.
