IIC Oslo: online conferences on Italian art history

Yesterday evening the second appointment with a series of live streaming lectures on Italian art history took place, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo.

The events, held in Norwegian language by Paola Burigana Graff, an Italian art scholar living in Oslo, were followed on Facebook by about 300 people connected from all over Norway, who during the live broadcast showed their appreciation through hundreds of interactions (“likes”, shares and positive comments). The conference recordings on the Institute’s Facebook profile continued to receive thousands of views in the following days.

The initiative is part of the strategy adopted by the IIC in Oslo to continue its activities during the current pandemic crisis. The Italian language classes have been transferred to the online platforms and other new distance learning courses introducing the Italian language and culture have been activated, and the places available have been sold out in a short time.

In June, a conference on Federico Fellini in Norwegian will be organised by the psychiatrist, professor, writer and connoisseur of Italian cinema, Finn Skårderud, in live streaming.
