About 300 people attended the webinar Art and museums in times of crisis, the first event of #ItalyRestArt, the cultural and scientific promotion exhibition available online, by the Italian Embassy in London.
For this first appointment, dedicated to the strategies adopted by museums to react to the closure imposed by the pandemic, the directors of prestigious British and Italian cultural institutions, such as the National Gallery (Gabriele Finaldi), the Wallace Collection (Xavier Bray) and the Scuderie del Quirinale (Matteo Lafranconi), have compared and shared their respective experiences with the public, supported in the debate by Roberta Cremoncini, director of the Estorick Collection – London museum entirely dedicated to Italian art of the 20th century – and the director of the Italian Cultural Institute in London, Katia Pizzi. The webinar, which opened with a speech by the Italian Ambassador in London Raffaele Trombetta, was moderated by the journalist Nicol Degli Innocenti.
