The Italian Cultural Institutes of Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, and Stockholm propose a literary marathon composed of three women’s stories to tell life in the days of Covid-19. Every day, from May 18th to June 4th, at 6 pm on the Institutes’ social channels Facebook and Instagram, a passage taken from “L’ultimo aereo (The last airplane)”, the instant book by Joana Karda, the first female collective of mestizo writing in Italy, composed by Claudia Mitri, Lolita Jaskin and Leila Wadia, will be read.
The reading will begin at the Italian Cultural Institute in Copenhagen, while on May 22nd the Helsinki Institute will collect the baton, which in turn will deliver it to the Oslo Institute on May 27th. The Stockholm Institute will finally conclude the marathon, offering its reading from May 31st to June 4th.
It is a relay race of the Italian Cultural Institutes of the four capitals of the Nordic region to support the importance of reading, women’s writing, and teamwork. L’ultimo aereo is a collection of three stories that tell the experience of life in the days of COVID-19. Three different intertwined stories intertwined to talk about women’s relationships, internal travel, flights taken, flights lost and dramatic flights.
