The Italian Cultural Institute resumes its cycle of meetings with writers Quadrante Sud. Nuove rotte letterarie Italia-Argentina (New literary routes Italy-Argentina).
The Quadrante Sud project was born in 2019 in cooperation with the Turin International Book Fair, with the aim of promoting meetings, circulation and translation of contemporary Italian literature in Argentina, and vice versa, ensuring the presence of Italian authors throughout the year.
The next appointment, Thursday 18th June, is with Claudia Durastanti, finalist of the Premio Strega 2019 with the book La straniera (The Stranger) published in Spanish and currently available as eBook in Argentina.
Claudia Durastanti (Brooklyn, 1984) is a writer and translator. In 2010, her first novel, Un giorno verrò a lanciare sassi alla tua finestra, won the Mondello Giovani Prize and the Castiglioncello Opera Prima Prize and reached the final of the John Fante Prize. She then published the novel A Chloe per le ragioni sbagliate (To Chloe, for the wrong reasons), and Cleopatra goes to prison. She was Italian Fellow in Literature at the American Academy in Rome and is one of the founders of FILL – Festival of Italian Literature in London.
Donatella Cannova, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, and Santiago Giordano, journalist, will lead the meeting.
