The Italian Cultural Institute of Cairo, the Swiss Embassy in Egypt, the Luxor University, the Luxor Poetry House, the Traduxit Laboratory in order to promote the translation and diffusion of Italian and Swiss-Italian poetry in Arabic-speaking countries are announcing the first edition for Arabic-speaking countries of M’illumino / d’immenso, an international prize for the translation of poetry from Italian to Arabic.

This initiative arises from the desire to promote the translation of contemporary Italian poetry in the Arabic-speaking world. Among the novelties of the Egyptian edition is the creation of a special prize for young translators (contestants who have not yet turned 26 years of age on October 21, 2020), in consideration of the presence of the numerous students of the Italian language in Egypt who cultivate a passion for Italian literature. The initiative is sponsored by the Libraries of Rome, which will offer the winner a residence at the Casa delle Traduzioni in Rome.

The application – which expires on September 3, 2020 – can be downloaded by clicking here.
