Tehran, the new episode of “8 1⁄2 Theatre Clips”

In cooperation with the Instabili vaganti  theatre company and director Ali Shams, the Italian Embassy in Tehran has broadcast today on its social channels the second episode of the virtual theatre series 8 1/2 Theatre ClipsHow COVID-19 Changed Our Lives, starring Danial Kheirikhah as lead actor.

The episode, entitled Il Turno di Notte, is intended as a tribute to the health workers in Italy and Iran who have fought and continue to be at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19.

In Iran, the epidemic continues to represent a national emergency in which the country’s best scientific and medical resources are being used in an attempt to contain it. New infections and new victims were recorded today.

In five dense minutes, and through an imaginary dialogue half in Italian and half in Persian, Il Turno di Notte tackles the theme of the passage of time and its contradictions: the exasperating slowness of time imposed by confinement, on the one hand, and the memory of the implacable rhythms in health workers’ night shifts, on the other.

You can watch the episode from today (together with the previous episode Beyond the mirror) on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram channels of the Italian Embassy in Tehran.

The third of the eight episodes in the series will be made available on 30th September.
