Prague, at the Karlovy Vary Festival ‘The land of children’

The Italian Cultural Institute in Prague has collaborated in the organisation of the prestigious Karlovy Vary Festival, which is now at its 55th edition, scheduled to run from 20 to 28 August this year, where 32 premieres will be presented in two competitive sections plus an exclusive non-competitive programme. Claudio Cupellini’s film “La terra dei figli” (2021) will be in the competition for Italy. Taken from a comic book by Gipi,  the plot recounts the story of a father who tries to prepare his children to face a hard life in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by violence.

The Film Foundation, which was established in 1990 by the Italian-American director and screenwriter Martin Scorsese, will receive a tribute during the Festival.

The evening before the Festival begins, the programme of the most significant films of 2020 and 2021 in the non-competitive selection, including other Italian films, will be announced.
