On the occasion of the cultural initiatives organized with the Estonian authorities to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the re-established diplomatic relations between Italy and Estonia (on August 27, 1991), The Italian Embassy in Tallinn decided to pay tribute to Maestro Ennio Morricone (1928-2020).
Morricone is one of the most famous composers of movie scores; his soundtracks have gone down in history and have touched countless hearts all over the world.
Four movies that are acknowledged masterpieces in cinema history were enhanced by his musical scores, which became universal successes, and were chosen for this occasion: ‘Malena’ directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, ‘Days of Heaven’ by Terrence Malick, ‘Once Upon a Time in America America’ by Sergio Leone and Brian De Palma’s ‘The Untouchables.
The movies will be shown from September 1 to 4, 2021, in the original language with Estonian subtitles, simultaneously at the “Kino Soprus” threater in Tallinn and the “Elektriteater” in Tart.
The film review was prepared in collaboration with the Estonian cultural foundation “Cultural Endowment of Estonia” and the film distribution company “Bestfilm.eu OU”.
