Italian exhibition in Bratislava: “New post-photography”

bratislava
A Bratislava mostra italiana "New post-photography"

The “Mesiac photographs” exhibition, currently on show in Bratislava, also includes an Italian group exhibition, “New post-photography” illustrating the evolution of photography in today’s world and its relationship with the media and social networks. Curated by Gigliola Foschi, it was organised in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava and was inaugurated on 07 November. It remains open for visitors until 28 November 2021.

The various works on show are intended to stimulate an alternative way of seeing that is no longer based on a hurried or passive gaze but that involves the viewer, to the point of including them in the work itself; the aim is to reduce the spectacular aspects, sometimes even by concealing the images from the viewer.

The authors of the photographs are Alessandra Baldoni, Nicola Bertasi, Silvia Bigi, Tina Cosmai, Giancarlo Dell’Antonia, Elena Franco, Luca Gilli, Marco Guenzi, Leonardo Magrelli, Luca Marianaccio, Francesco Merlini, Michele Palazzi, Edoardo Romagnoli, Carolina Sandretto, Kai Uwe Schulte-Bunert, Gian Marco Sanna, Alessandro Toscano, Stefano Tubaro, and Silvio Wolf.
