Carlo Cracco’s “egg in black”, a sublime creation, after a succession of equally wonderful dishes, finds its symmetrical counterpart in the dessert, which conceals a delicate yolk of passion fruit at its heart: this is how the 6th edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World kicked off in Switzerland, on Thursday ,18 November 2021. In Bern, at the Ambassador’s Residence, the great chef, who is also Director of the Maestro Martino Association, offered a gala dinner to eighty people, including Ambassadors, intellectuals, scientific researchers, and Swiss politicians and businesspeople. Thanks to this event, the Embassy and the ICE Office in Bern showcased great Italian cuisine, also promoting our industry in a country that already looks at Italy, its cuisine and its food products, with great favour and interest.

“Tradition and perspectives of Italian cuisine: awareness and enhancement of food sustainability” is the main theme of the 2021 edition of the Week, which combines the promotion of Italian agri-food products with the enhancement of the Mediterranean Diet, as a model of healthy and sustainable nutrition and lifestyle.

On the same occasion, the second edition of the ‘Numeri Uno’ (Top Rankers) Award, organised by the Italian Embassy in Bern and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Zurich, was presented.
