Prague, the MittelCinemaFest 2021 gets under way

PRAGA
Praga, al via il MittelCinemaFest 2021

Once again this year, the central European festival of contemporary Italian cinema – MittelCinemaFest – now in its 9th edition in the Czech Republic, offers a wide-ranging, variegated review of the new movies and most recent successes of the Italian film season. The selection includes 11 documentaries and movies, works by famous directors and rising young authors, interpreted by some great stars and a few new talents.

The program will feature seven movies that are completely new to the Czech Republic: America Latina by Damiano and Fabio D’Innocenzo; Ariaferma by Leonardo di Costanzo; Futura by Pietro Marcello, Francesco Munzi and Alice Rohrwacher; Marx può aspettare by Marco Bellocchio; Per tutta la vita by Paolo Costella (which will then be distributed in theaters by Bohemia Motion Pictures); Piccolo corpo by Laura Samani; Welcome Venice by Andrea Segre. In addition to these movies will be the extraordinary films presented in the Czech Republic at international festivals like the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, the FebioFest and the Festival of European Cinema – or already scheduled for distribution in the theaters: Fortuna by Nicolangelo Gelormini; Re Granchio by Rigo de Righi and Matteo Zoppis; A Chiara by Jonas Carpignano and Raffaello, the young prodigy by Massimo Ferrari (both by generous concession of the distributor Aerofilms).

The films will be shown in the original language, with Czech and English subtitles, and tickets can be purchased on-line or at the box office of the Lucerna Cinema.

The festival is organized by the Italian Embassy in Prague, the Italian Institute of Culture, the Italo-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ENIT – the Italian National Tourist Organization, Istituto Luce Cinecittà and the Lucerna Cinema in Prague, in collaboration with the City of Prague, Aerofilms, Bohemia Motion Pictures, Ferrero and Segafredo Zanetti; media partners: La Pagina, Progetto Repubblica Ceca, Cafè Boheme, Italia Praga One Way, Prague Today, Patrimonio Italiano TV, Radio 1, CSFD – Česko-Slovenská filmová databáze, Echo 24 and expats.cz.
