China: Milano Design Film Festival arrives in Chengdu

On Friday, December 17, the Vice Consul of Italy in Chongqing, Adriana Lori, participated in the ceremony of inauguration of the Milano Design Film Festival at the renowned Zhongxin bookstore in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province. The event was attended by the Vice Director of the Management Committee of the Tianfu New Area, Diao Yi, the Vice General Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs of the City of Chengdu, Huang Tao and the Director of the International Office for Cooperation of the Tianfu New Area, Hua Minna.

With the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiBAC), of the City of Milan and of the Association of Architects of Milan, and thanks to the involvement of the world of cinema, design and architecture, the Milano Design Film Festival is a unique showcase that serves to publicize the world of Italian design and architecture through cinema. It is a fascinating event that attracts increasing numbers of visitors in an expanding variety of sectors: from professionals in the fields concerned, to enthusiasts, students and the general public.

During the daylong event, a round table featured the participation of the Italian designer and architect, Marco De Battista. It was an opportunity for an wide-ranging exchange of ideas on creativity, innovation and sustainability in urban planning, thanks to the participation of the Chinese experts, designers and architects who participated in the activities of urban planning of the City of Chengdu.

Organized by the Office of Foreign Affairs of the City of Chengdu in collaboration with the General Consulate of Italy in Chongqing and with the Management Committee of the Tianfu New Area, the Chengdu presentation of the Milano Design Film Festival concludes the program of cultural events entitled “Chengdu-Europe Culture Season 2021”, in which Italy participated in the role of Guest Country of Honor, with a rich lineup of cultural events that participate in the context of the “Road to 2022”, in view of the China-Italy Year of Culture and Tourism.
