At the Changjiang Museum of Contemporary Art in Chongqing, the exhibition “We Love ART. Vision and Creativity Made in Italy” was inaugurated a few days ago. It features original works by eight emerging young Italian artists. The exhibition was organized by the General Consulate of Italy in Chongqing jointly with the Italian Institute of Culture in Beijing and the Museum that hosts it, and will remain open to the public, free of charge, until January 6, 2022.

At the inauguration, the Italian Consul General of Italy, Guido Bilancini, was joined by numerous guests from the world of culture and art, the Second Level Inspector of the Tourism and Culture Commission, Du Hu, and the Director of the Consular Office of the Office of Foreign Affairs of the City of Chongqing, Fan Qing. The inauguration coincided with the celebration of Contemporary Art Day, the grand event dedicated annually to Italian contemporary art with the patronage of AMACI (the Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums), and the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture. This year, the seventeenth such celebration in Italy, was the first time it has been organized in southwestern China as well. The initiative is also part of the program of cultural activities organized in the context of the “Road to 2022 Year of Culture and Tourism Italy – China”.

Ludovico Pratesi and Marco Bassan curated the exhibition, in which the Italian artists selected were Benni Bosetto, Giulia Cenci, Tomaso De Luca, Lulù Nuti, Amedeo Polazzo, Alice Ronchi, Giulio Saverio Rossi and Namsal Siedlecki.

The project has the goal of valorizing the pairing of art and business and taking up the legacy of patronage of the arts that is an important Italian tradition, advancing its penetration into the world of contemporary art. For “We Love ART”, the artists selected produced a work of art, each of them on commission, receiving the support of the CDP Foundation and benefiting from the operational support of one of the eight Italian businesses involved: Open Fiber, Terna, Eni, Webuild, CDP Immobiliare, Snam, Tim, Ansaldo Energia.

“We Love ART –comment Consul Bilancini – explores the relationship between art, industry and contemporary society, updating the concept of patronage of the arts in modern terms and highlighting the role Italian companies can have in supporting the artistic and cultural sector in our country. Thanks to the collaboration between great enterprises and young artists, We Love ART is a showcase of Italian excellence on full display: from the sector of art, culture and creativity to the industrial and innovative sector”.

The Chongqing event is the second after Seoul and part of a complex international tour circuit that will continue to New York, Mexico City, Cairo and Berlin.
